San Sebastian / Donostia

The Pearl of the Bay of Biscay, Paris of the South, La Bella Easo… these are some of the nicknames that San Sebastian has received over the years for its beauty and charm.
San Sebastian is one of the most beautiful cities in the Basque Country and in Spain, as it combines everything the visitor could wish for in a single city. I invite you to enjoy with ‘Let Me Guide You’ the sea, the mountains, the beach, its history and monuments, without forgetting its gastronomy, a part of Donostia’s DNA.

Vitoria-Gasteiz
It is the capital of the Basque Country, and one of the greenest cities in Europe, internationally committed to the environment.
With Let Me Guide You you will be able to follow its evolution from the Middle Ages, with its historic centre declared a cultural heritage site, through its expansion in the 19th century to the present day.
The historic centre of Vitoria-Gasteiz is one of the best preserved in Spain, with its cobbled streets, squares and historic buildings and its Plaza de la Virgen Blanca as the emblematic place and the heart of the city. Not to forget the 13th century Gothic cathedral of Santa Maria, a must-see with its impressive architecture and rich history making it one of the city’s most important monuments.

Charming places

San Juan de Gaztelugatxe
If there is a magical place in the Basque Country, it is San Juan de Gaztelugatxe. Because of its landscape, its history and its worldwide fame for being used as the setting for Rocadragon in the television series ‘Game of Thrones’, it is a must on a tour of the coast of Bizkaia. It is an islet connected to the mainland by a narrow stone bridge and a steep staircase of 241 steps. With Let Me Guide You you can walk to the top of the islet, admire the views and the hermitage of San Juan Bautista, whose origins date back to the 9th century.
The coastline of Gipuzkoa
The coast of Gipuzkoa is marked by steep cliffs such as those of Zumaia, golden sandy beaches such as La Concha in San Sebastian, Zarautz, known for being one of the longest in the Basque Country, or La Zurriola, ideal for surfing. It is also dotted with picturesque fishing villages where time seems to have stood still.
Discover with Let Me Guide You places like Getaria, with its medieval old town, the Balenciaga museum and its delicious gastronomy, or the flysch, a peculiar rock formation that can be seen in this area of the coast.

The Getxo cliffs
Come with Let Me Guide You for a walk along the cliffs of Getxo. This is an easy and accessible hiking route for everyone, which will allow you to enjoy breathtaking views over the Cantabrian Sea, an 18th century fort for the defence of the coast and at the same time enjoy nature. This is a 9-kilometre coastal path that runs between the towns of Getxo and Sopelana.
The area of the cliffs of Getxo is not only ideal for hiking, but also for enjoying outdoor activities. There are several coastal paths that wind along the cliffs, offering panoramic views over the sea and access to small coves and hidden beaches.
The Oma Forest
Explore with Let Me Guide You a unique place in the world: the Oma Forest. In the heart of the Urdaibai Biosphere Nature Reserve, on the side of a mountain, is the most peculiar of the works of art designed by the Basque artist Agustín Ibarrola: The Forest of Oma. Following a path in the middle of nature, we reach the beginning of this route that invites us to discover the figures and patterns that blend harmoniously with the natural environment of the forest painted on the tree trunks.

Crossing the border

Biarritz, San-Jean-de-Luz…
The French Basque Country offers breathtaking landscapes, ranging from the Atlantic coast with spectacular beaches to the mountains of the interior.
With Let Me Guide You, discover places like Biarritz, with its famous beaches, its history linked to the summer holiday of Emperor Napoleon III and its sophisticated atmosphere resulting from the arrival of European royalty in the 19th century.
Saint-Jean-de-Luz is another iconic place with its picturesque streets and its history linked to a royal wedding…
As in the Spanish Basque Country, the gastronomy in the French Basque Country is excellent. In its bars, restaurants or markets, you can enjoy a wide variety of traditional Basque dishes and delicious local products
